How does chiropractic work?

Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the nervous system (brain and spinal cord) is the master coordinator of all bodily functions. Your nervous system is protected by the skull and 24 moveable bones of the spine. Abnormal position of spinal bones results in nervous system dysfunction, spinal decay and ill health. The chiropractic approach to better health is to detect, reduce and help prevent nervous system dysfunction. top

Can I have chiropractic care even if I’ve had back surgery?

Yes. In fact, it is often highly recommended. When areas of the spine are fused together or even removed, it limits the normal movement in that area. Vertebrae above and below the surgical site must work harder to take up the slack. That’s where chiropractic comes in. The compensating areas are treated and monitored to keep them working as smoothly as possible.
